Annual Memorial Mass in Bridhaven
As the weather grows colder and the leaves fall and Christmas approaches, it is natural that our thoughts turn to those whom we have loved who are no longer with us that is why every year, in November as it is the month of the Holy Souls, we in Bridhaven hold a memorial service for the residents that have deceased in the past twelve months.
We find that it is a very intimate, peaceful service and this year was no exception.
With familys travelling from as far away as the UK and as close as five minutes away we held our Mass, that was celebrated by Fr McCarthy. One of our senior nurse Elaine Murphy did the reading and responsorial psalm, the prayers of the faithful were done by Breda, Maura, Mary and Theresa (family members), Mary Rea read out the names of the people that Mass was offered for and Trish O Sullivan did a reflection and a poem after communion. Everyone, staff, residents, visitors and family members sang the hymns which made a touching and reverent evening.
Mass was followed by some refreshments and some mouthwatering cakes that were provided by the chefs here in Bridhaven.
Just a quick thank you to everyone that helped out for this evenings service.
